Manager

The Role


The Accounting Manager leads the execution and quality of accounting services while developing team members and enhancing client outcomes. This role blends technical accounting expertise, team leadership, and financial insight to ensure accurate financials, efficient processes, and meaningful advisory support.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing client engagements, reviewing work, coaching staff, and partnering with advisors to elevate both financial clarity and business performance.   

What you’ll do:

Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Perform and oversee full-cycle accounting

  • Review reconciliations, journal entries, and financials

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports

  • Manage payroll and related tax filings

  • Prepare and review state/local tax filings (e.g., WA B&O)

  • Lead QuickBooks cleanup and optimization


Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage, coach, and develop accounting team members

  • Review and provide feedback on team deliverables

  • Support training, onboarding, and skill development

  • Allocate work and manage team capacity

  • Foster accountability, growth, and performance


Financial Analysis & Advisory

  • Analyze financials to identify trends and risks

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning

  • Provide insights to support client decision-making

  • Partner with advisors on strategic recommendations

  • Elevate reporting with KPIs and performance metrics


Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

  • Improve workflows, systems, and accounting processes

  • Ensure consistency and quality across engagements

  • Support system optimization and tech stack adoption

  • Strengthen quality control and review procedures

  • Identify efficiency and profitability opportunities


Client & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a primary client relationship lead (accounting)

  • Communicate financial insights clearly to clients

  • Collaborate with advisory, planning, and production teams

  • Support high-quality, consistent client experience

  • Navigate complex client situations with professionalism

What you’ll bring:

  • 6-10+ years of accounting experience, including leadership

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and full-cycle accounting

  • Experience reviewing work and managing deliverables

  • Ability to lead teams and develop talent

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and client-facing ability

  • High attention to detail and accountability

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Integrity and discretion with sensitive information 

Education & Experience: 

  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online/Desktop

  • Strong Excel skills (analysis, reporting, review)

  • Experience with reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) preferred

  • Familiarity with Gusto, Dext, Expensify, and cloud-based systems

  • Ability to evaluate and improve accounting systems and workflows

Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • CPA preferred (or actively pursuing)

  • Experience in public accounting, CAS, or client services preferred
